16 teams enter the icebreaker and Illinois state champs combined regatta this weekend. Sailors were greeted with a light to medium easterly breeze. Temperature barely got above 30° all day, which made for some cold sailors. As the day went on, the breeze decreased to a light easterly. Sailing inside Belmont harbor was challenging for the sailors as they dealt with shifts and velocity changes across the race course. Race committee did a great job getting 7 races in A division and 6 races in B division.
A medium southerly breeze greeted sailors on Sunday morning. The forecast was not looking good. B division started with races 7 and 8. The breeze continue to build througout the morning. Race Committee decided to postpone for an hour to let a front come through. After the rain had past, sailors finished the B rotations to complete racing for the day. Congratulations to Loyola Academy for winning the Icebreaker and Illinois State championships. Latin Finished second and Minnetonka came in third.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
