Bright blue sunshine and no breeze greeted the 10 visiting teams this past Saturday at the Sail MV boathouse on Martha's Vineyard. The southeasterly quickly filled in and 8 races in each division were completed using W-4's and W-3's which helped facilitate our rotations. South-easterlies in the Lagoon are known to be very shifty and today was no different. Consistency was the name of the game as Duxbury and North Kingston fought it out for top spot. On many different occasions, boats that were over early, who played their cards right, ended up rounding the windward mark in first. Conversely, If you got stuck on the wrong side of the course during the upwind leg, a slow and arduous battle was in your future with no way to get back to the windward mark.
All-in-all, an excellent day on the water for all the teams willing to make the trip. A big thanks to Alumni Ben Nivala and Jesse Thomas for assisting me today. Thanks to all who made the trip. Sail MV and MVRHS looks forward to hosting many of you next year.
Congratulations Duxbury

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
