On Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, 14 Varsity teams and 8 JV teams from 11 schools met at the new Youth Sailing Virginia temporary facility on Mill Creek at Fort Monroe in Hampton, VA for a scrimmage, and the first youth sailing event at the new venue. Sailors and guests enjoyed ideal weather and viewing conditions. Waves were less than one foot and west/southwest winds ranged from 10-15 mph with gusts to 20 mph. Varsity completed 6 A and 6 B races and JV completed 6 races. In Varsity, Christchurch Team 1 took first place followed by Smithfield and Maury. In JV, Christchurch took first place followed by York County sailing as York High School and Smithfield.
