MN Conference Finale

Eighty five sailors from around Minnesota arrived at White Bear Sailing School at 8:00am and were greeted by sunny skies and a 12mph breeze out of the West. Racing got underway ahead of schedule, with the first warning at 9:40am. The breeze built throughout the day, topping out around 16mph with gusts to 20mph; the breezy conditions resulted in a few capsizes on the race course.

All races were sailed using a windward leeward, twice around, with a gate. Three sets were completed in each division, resulting in 12 races total before the cutoff time of 3:00pm. Two breakdowns were granted and one protest was filed, resulting in a DSQ. Racing was tight, with only 6 points separating 2nd and 6th place. Congratulations to all sailors who competed, and to our winners Wayzata Gold with 29 points overall. Thank you to all of our volunteers for helping with registration, food, and running the races!
