SAISA North Points #1

Summary

Saturday, October 25:

The North Points #1 Regatta was held at the James Island Yacht Club in beautiful weather varying from 67 to 73 degrees and sunny skies. Wind direction was N to NE at 6-8kts for first three races, and dropped to 2-4kts for race #4. Races began at high tide and very light current at 1000 hrs. At the tide began to ebb, and wind began to drop racing had to be suspended at 1430 hrs because boats could make no headway against the current. A period of waiting for one hour was followed by racing abandoned at 1600 hrs due to flat calm conditions.

Thanks go to the James Island High School and Bishop England School parents and kids for regatta support - breakfast, snacks, and great chicken sandwich lunches. Special thanks to James Island Yacht Club for use of their perfect venue for school racing; and thanks to all race committee and judging people for running yet another great regatta. Too bad about the lack of wind, but that's sailboat racing.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
