On Tuesday Oct. 28, 2014, five schools from the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools (TCIS) presented 28 teams for competition in an in-conference regatta Norfolk Yacht and Country Club. Winds were 6-12mph out of the Southwest and pretty steady directionally, but with fairly variable strength. Current was strongly ebbing against the breeze, which resulted in 1-2 foot chop. While schools presented between 3 and 8 teams for individual competition, the Teams 1, 2, and 3 from each school combined scores to determine the regatta winner. In the team competition Norfolk Collegiate Team 1 was the first place team followed by Norfolk Academy Team 1 and Norfolk Academy Team 2. The top placing school was Norfolk Academy followed by Norfolk Collegiate, Nansemond Suffolk Academy, Walsingham and Hampton RoadsAcademy.
Scores with the Teams 4-8 removed for the school championship may be found on the Notice Board for this regatta @ http://scores.hssailing.org/f14/visa-tcis/notices/ .
The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
