MISSA Cressy Qualifier - Laser Standard

Summary

Saturday, September 19:

Sailors from around the Midwest arrived to White Bear Lake with sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 50's with a high of 70 degrees. After waiting for the wind the wind to settle in, racing got underway at 10:30 am. The initial WNW breeze shifted to the SW by the end of the day and ranged from 4-12 mph. The 7 laser standards completed 7 races on a twice around windward leeward with a gate and dog leg finish. Boats were docked at 4:40 pm. Racing will resume tomorrow at 9:45 am.

Sunday, September 20:

Competitors meeting took place at 9 am and the first was was started promptly at 9:45 am. We had sunny skies and highs of 70 degrees, the breeze was from the South at 11-16 mph with gusts slightly higher. An additional 5 races were sailed today, making for 12 races total. All courses were W/L twice around with a gate and dogleg finish. Sailors finished racing at 1:45 pm. Racing was close and there was a tie for second place. Congratulations to Court Vandlik from Minnetonka and Graham Post from East Grand Rapids on qualifying for Cressy Nationals!
