Summary

Saturday, October 3:

NorCal #1 - Saturday, October 3, 2015 The 2015-16 NorCal League season got underway with NorCal #1, hosted by the Encinal Yacht Club on Saturday, October 3, 2015. Fifty-nine teams (28 Gold Fleet and 31 Silver Fleet), representing 40 NorCal high schools, arrived under sunny skies and calm conditions. A brief postponement followed the competitors meeting, while sailors relaxed ashore and awaited the arrival of expected breezes on the Oakland-Alameda estuary.

Racing commenced at 1230 hours in 5 knots breeze from the WSW. Conditions freshened throughout the afternoon, with wind clocking to westerly and building to 12 knots, with gusts reaching 17 knots during the late afternoon races. Nine gold fleet and seven silver fleet races were completed. Quality racing, great weather and outstanding food made for a terrific regatta for sailors, coaches and parents alike. Many thanks to the EYC volunteers for hosting an excellent event, both on and off the water.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
