Summary

Saturday, October 17:

Racing started about 11am with a brisk northerly breeze at 15-18 knots in the harbor near James Island Yacht Club. The breeze calmed a bit by 2PM to 12-15 then down to 8-10 by 3:30. 8A and 8B races were completed by 5PM. They were all windward-leeward twice around with a leeward mark gate. Four protests were heard resulting in 2 DSQ's. One redress was heard and average points awarded. James Island Yacht Club members comprised the majority of RC and safety boats providing excellent racing and hospitality for all involved.

Sunday, October 18:

A strong cold front blew through Sat. night leaving behind breeze 20-25 knots and high waves in the harbor. Racing was moved up the Ashley River adjacent to Brittlebank Park utilizing the dock of the Bristol Marina for viewing and rotations. Smooth water and 10-15 knots of breeze resulted in good racing. Five more A and B races were completed by 2PM totaling 13 races in each division. 5 protests were heard resulting in 1 DSQ. Thanks to protest committee Cathy and Mike Lindgren and additional thanks to the many JIYC and CCS volunteers.
