NWISA Keelboat Championship

Summary

Saturday, October 17:

Saturday started with an early skippers meeting and weigh-in at the Bellingham Yacht Club. Then, local Etchells sailors Tom Malone and Scott Wilson gave a small clinic on Etchells. The teams were shown the boats and helped with rigging.

A short practice race started the day to get the kids familiar with the boats.

Winds were very light, ranging from 0-5 mph. Most races were run in 3-4 mph. Wind shifted multiple times with each new breeze. Winds were either from the south, southwest, or west. The water was calm all day with a small current.

The racing was very close and tactical. 5 races were completed on Saturday. No races on Sunday.

Sunday, October 18:

Congrats to Sehome High School on the victory. Good luck in Florida at the National event.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
