SAISA Brunswick Open Regatta

The SAISA Brunswick Open Regatta, hosted by the Golden Isles Community Sailing Center, was held in the East Brunswick River at Brunswick Landing Marina in Brunswick, GA on Saturday, October 3. Thirteen teams competed. Despite Hurricane Joaquin offshore to our east, and torrential rain 100 miles to our north, the weather in Brunswick was perfect, overcast in the morning, clearing by afternoon, with a steady 9-12 knots of wind from the northwest all day long. Eight races in each division were completed. Several protests were heard with no DSQ’s; redress was awarded for a breakdown. Congratulations to Beaufort High, taking first place overall! And many thanks to all of the sailing team members, parents, and coaches, and to the volunteers from the Golden Isles Sailing Club, who made the regatta possible.
