The regatta started off a bit slow with a postponement ashore. Both divisions were able to get off 1 race before the breeze died forcing a lunch break. After lunch, a 8 knot SW breeze filled in on the Cooper River allowing for 7 more races in each division. Racing went late into the day, leaving the sailors with a pleasant sunset cruise into the dock. We were all greeted at the dock with pizza and drinks. 4 protests were held resulting in 4 DSQ's.
Sunday was quite the opposite from Saturday. Sailors arrived to 15-18 knots with puffs into the mid 20s. Racing was postponed ashore to see if it would calm down. The 420 fleet was eventually derigged and racing commenced in the FJ's. A-division was sent out to do 2 races in a steady 15-18 knows. After tears in some jibs, racing was paused at the rotation to reevaluate and repair sails. The older sails were rigged on the fleet for B-division to continue racing. During B-division's second race the wind again built to a steady 18-21 knots forcing capsizes throughout the fleet. Racing was eventually called off for the day after B-division's set. 10 races total were completed. Thank you to a team of Charleston Cougars headed by Ryan Davidson for running the races. More Thank yous to Scott Barkley for providing a big safety boat and to Mike and Kathy Lindgren and Dan Machowski for judging the protests. Thank you to Wendy Ando for providing the pizza Saturday Night and to Cathy Swanson and Ryan Hamm for putting this regatta together behind the scenes. And finally, thank you to Jacob Raymond for helping keeping the boats together and hosting us at the CofC Sailing Center.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
