Light breezes and high temperatures greeted the sailors for the first race of the SAISA South Points series for the 2015-2016 season. The event was hosted by the Davis Island Youth Sailing Foundation and held at the Davis Island Yacht Club. 24 varsity teams and 13 junior varsity teams competed in the event. After a pre-launch delay sorting through some of the early season logistics the A fleets started their first race in 4 knots out of the northeast. Fleets changed and rotated boats on the beach between sets while the race committee constantly adjusted the course length and direction in response to the variable breeze. A mid-afternoon lull forced a considerable postponement after A race 4 and the sailors floated patiently until the breeze filled in from the south. In the interest of time as afternoon thundershowers were developing in the area, the B fleets changed boats on the water to complete their race 5 before sailing ashore to change. A fleets completed their race 5 and all boats were ashore at 1815. Following derigging the sailors were treated to a cookout in advance of the rain. Congratulations to Ransom Everglades for their team victory in the first regatta of the year. Special thanks to all of the DIYSF, DIYC and Dinghy Dame volunteers who made this event possible. Regatta Chair -Richard Joyner, Chief Judge - Henry Moore, and PRO - JA Booker.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
