We showed up at SYC for the 9:00 Skipper's Meeting. Winds were 20 mph gusting to 28 mph with cloudy skies. The decision to postpone for 2 hours was made and announced. At 11:00 am, the winds were still around 18 mph with gusts still to around 25-26 mph. We postponed for 1 more hour. At noon, the winds were down a bit to 16 mph but the gusts were still in the mid-twenties. The decision to abandon racing for the day was made.
One team dropped out and the rotations were adjusted and posted.
Show up time on Sunday remains the same at 8:30.
Unlike Saturday that had too much wind, Sunday came with no wind. Temperatures were more moderate. Racing was initially postponed for two hours, then another hour. The wind did finally come in around noon and the sailors were sent to the race course. With the breeze came fog and the sailors were held in the harbor for a bit during the first boat change. Then a drizzle came in and cleared the fog a bit. Four races in each division were able to be sailed and we had a Regatta.
