Clipper Challenge

Summary

Saturday, September 10:

After a two hour wind delay, A division started off the regatta in light winds off the lovely Eastern Prom of Portland Maine. Twelve teams raced a W-L twice around, and rotations to B division were done on the water with RIBs, saving time by not sailing the distance to the dock each set. The breeze built slowly and was a decent 10 knots by 4 PM. Racers and coaches were treated to a make-your-own-sandwich luncheon put on by Yarmouth team parents. Two protests were heard, resulting in two DSQs. Thanks to SailMaine coaches (Dick Levesque, Jamie Farr, and Griffin) and coaches Mike Horn, Charles Barclay, Will Nye and to PRO Yarmouth coach Kevin Schwarm for running the regatta. Congratulations to Falmouth Yachtsmen for winning the annual Clipper Challenge Cup.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
