Sail Black Rock hosted 9 teams at this years Great Oaks Qualifier, but only the top 3 qualify for the Great Oaks regatta in New Orleans. Race committee was able to squeeze off 8 beautiful W4s. The breeze was consistently 15-18 kts in the morning, coming from the north west out of South Benson Marina. The wind slightly died off during the day. A few races the wind dropped down to 8 kts, but never held, the wind would consistently pick back up. After racing the teams indulged in ice cream on Captain's Cove boardwalk and quenched their thirst with the local soft drink of choice, Regatta Ginger Beer. A huge thank you to the Fairfield University sailors who helped run the regatta.
