Ohio HS Conference #3

Summary

Sunday, October 9:

The clouds cleared and the sailors were greeted to blue skies, temps in the 50’s and a breeze 10-15 from the north. Parents, coaches and spectators were able to watch all the racing in a stadium style environment perched just yards below the starting line with a full view of the race course from the shores of Wendy Park.

Six races were completed in both A and B before the time limit expired. With lots of puffs and wind shifts the sailor were treated to almost ideal conditions the whole day. The Racing was close but it the end The Sailors from Vermilion finished 3rd, the Grosse Ile Red Devils (red) team 2nd and Thomas Worthington finishing 1st. All sailors and parents left the grounds tired but with smiles on their faces

Many thanks to all the volunteers that helped make this the 3rd of 3 official MISSA regatta’s held in Ohio a big success

Don Moran and Nena Moran (RRHS) were the overall chair and organizers. Joe Colling was our awesome PRO, Terry McSweeney (AHS) helped as co-chair and was responsible for the fantastic flags given out as awards. Danielle VanHeekeren (Hawken) came up big and took over the food responsibilities. Sara Hoctor (TWHS) was once again perfect on getting scores up on techscore as soon as each set was completed.

This Regatta could not happen without the cooperation of Edgewater Yacht Club who let us use their boats and facility, The Cleveland Sailing Foundry, Vermilion HS and The Cleveland Yachting Club for also supplying boats to use.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
