SAISA North Points #2

Summary

Saturday, October 15:

The regatta was scheduled to take place at James Island Yacht Club but Hurricane Matthew smashed the floating dock system. Carolina Yacht Club graciously stepped in and provided the venue and 5 more boats. JIYC members ran the racing along with parents and CCS volunteers. Racing started just before noon with a nice NE breeze blowing 13-17. 8 A races and 6 B races were completed with no protests lodged.

Sunday, October 16:

Racing began for B division about 10:30 with light breeze and strong current. Races were delayed after A9 as a sea breeze was on the way. It filled in from the east and 12 A and 12 B races were completed by 2:30. With some road closures an issue for some teams it was decided to end racing and pack up the fleet. A big Thank You to Scott Bartley and his able band of helpers and Jessica and her CCS volunteers.

This regatta was also the Great Oaks Qualifier for SAISA North. The top schools were Beaufort High, Myers Park High, and John T. Hoggard High with Porter-Gaud coming in as the alternate.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
