Conditions filled in beautifully for day one of NorCal Divisional 1 regatta after an hour postponement. Breeze built to be about 6-12 knots throughout the day on the flat waters of the Oakland Estuary directly in front of the Encinal Yacht Club. Sailors, parents, and coaches had great viewing from the club lawn, deck, and docks. 14 teams in Gold Fleet and 18 teams in Silver fleet enjoyed great competition all day, packing in 6 races for A and B divisions of both fleets and heading back to the dock just as the sun was setting.
Day two of NorCal Divisional 1 event got started right on time, but experienced a few delays during racing as the breeze was inconsistent in strength and velocity early in the day. Racing was good, but tough, challenging the sailors with shifty and puffy breeze and significant current. 3 more races for A and B divisions of Gold and Silver fleet were completed, and racing was done by 3pm to the delight of all. In total, 9 races were run for each division in each fleet, resulting in 36 complete races! Congratulations to all competitors on a fantastic event.
