Clipper Challenge

Summary

Saturday, September 23:

Clipper Challenge was held at SailMaine and attended by 15 teams from as close by as Portland and as far away as Burlington VT. Yarmouth Coach Jim Atwood capably ran the races while Yarmouth parents handled logistics shoreside and fed the hordes of hungry sailors and their adult supporters. Races were postponed for about 90 minutes while waiting for the eventual seabreeze to build to raceable strength. 4 1/2 sets of races were sailed, mostly W-2's with a couple of W-4's later in the day. The Greely Rangers led for the entire day, with Yarmouth and Isleboro 2 nipping at their heals. The lack of protests was evidence that a good time was had by all.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
