Sailors, coaches, race officials, and all the equipment were in place and ready to start racing on time but were greeted with flat glassy calm. After an hour delay the southerly filled in and racing commenced. Throughout the day we saw light conditions from nearly every direction. Spectators on the dock were treated to up close views of both the leeward gates and the weather marks before we were done. Sailors did a wonderful job of adjusting to the conditions and helping each other with the necessary work to get boats on and off the water.
