Saturday of the Great Lakes Championship started with thunderstorms and pouring rain! 4 races were accomplished in Belmont Harbor after a couple hours of postponement. The harbor provided fluky and unstable conditions so the course was taken outside onto Lake Michigan. Conditions on the lake were challenging as well with 2-3 foot waves and 10 knots of dying breeze.
Sunday proved equally challenging with a very unstable 3-5 NW breeze that came and went throughout the day and shifted between 270 and 0 degrees. 9 races in each division were completed right until the time limit.
Big thank you to everybody for their work and efforts this weekend. Congratualtions to Minnetonka HS for a well deserved victory!
