Red Hat Regatta

Summary

Saturday, September 16:

The sailors arrived to the regatta to find light winds. We were able to start the regatta on time with light and shifty wind. Thanks to our PRO and mark set, we were able to complete 16 races. The day was warm and the wind ranged from 5-10 knots. Racing continued until late in the afternoon. The sailors had a great time and we saw a lot of competition.

Sunday, September 17:

We arrived to the regatta to find fog and little wind. After a brief delay, the wind increased and remained steady for the day. Racing continued and we sailed 12 more races. It was a very close finish for some of the teams, and it was down to the last race that made the determination on who qualified for the Great Lake Championships.

Congratulations to Grosse Pointe South for taking 1st and qualifying for ACC and GLC! Also qualifying and placing top 5 are Spring Lake, Grand Haven, Black River, Grosse Ile. West Bloomfield placed top 6 and were only 3 points from 5th.

Great job to all of the sailors. Friendships were reunited and new ones formed. We have an amazing group of young sailors.

Thank you to all who helped on the race course, our PRO, coaches, and sailors.

We would like to thank all of our parents for a wonderful weekend, including the food that kept us going for two long days of great sailing!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
