Saturday at the NWISA High School Sailing Singlehanded Championship for the Burke Thomas Trophy delivered an exciting day of racing. The race committee orchestrated a total of 12 races, showcasing the remarkable skills of the young sailors. Wind conditions varied between 5-14 knots out of the north. The day was characterized by intense competition and tactical maneuvers as participants navigated through the challenging wind patterns, currents, and sea state. Sailors demonstrated their adaptability and strategy, making it a memorable day of high-quality racing.
Sunday offered a different set of challenges at the NWISA High School Sailing Singlehanded Championship. The sailors faced a shifty southerly breeze, creating tough to predict conditions on the water as shifts came off the shore. Despite the fickle wind, each fleet managed to complete 3 races. As the day progressed, the wind conditions became increasingly unreliable, culminating in the wind completely shutting off at 12:45pm.
