Ursuline Schools Regatta

The third edition of the Ursuline Schools Regatta was hosted by St. Ursula Academy Cincinnati Sailing Team on Cowan Lake, OH. On Thursday, the Ursuline New Orleans Students visited the St. Ursula Academy Campus and then the teams met for a pool party. On Friday, the sailors met at noon, rigged boats, and began sailing at 1:00 with a shifty and puffy North wind averaging about 7mph. Windward-leeward courses were sailed under sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 70s. After 7 races, a St. Ursula Academy Cincinnati boat is leading the overall scoreboard but Ursuline Academy New Orleans is leading the combined score for the Ursuline Schools Cup. After racing, the teams gathered together for dinner and ice cream.

Racing got underway at 10:00 with sunny skies and a light north wind at about 5mph. Congratulations to Ursuline Academy New Orleans for winning the 3rd edition of the Ursuline Schools trophy by scoring the top two boats from each team. After racing, the sailors got to explore the cornfields around Cowan Lake and then headed to downtown Cincinnati to enjoy Octoberfest. The next Ursuline Schools Regatta is scheduled to be in New Orleans in the winter of 2025.
