VISA Fall JV Championship

Summary

Saturday, October 28:

Clear skies, flat water, and light air met 15 teams from 9 schools on the Lafayette River for the Fall VISA Fleet Championship. Winds were 4-8mph with gusts to 10pm, initially SW steadily clocking right to northerly by the time racing concluded at 12:30PM.

The course was adjusted after just about every race. Sailors completed 6 single division races on a W-4 course. One protest was herd resulting in a DSQ for fouling a fellow competitor while jibing.

Congratulations to Bruton High School for securing first place with three bullets and 17 points. York High School was a close second with 20 points, followed closely by Norfolk Academy Team 2 in third with 20 points.

We extend thanks to the race committee and coaches for readily adjusting the course and running consistently fair races despite shifts. Special thanks goes to Zig for serving as PRO.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
