VISA Hague JV Fleet Race Regatta

Summary

Saturday, September 9:

VISA's first regatta of the Fall season welcomed 20 teams from 12 schools for Varsity sailing and 12 teams from 6 schools for JV Sailing. Racing started at 9:32am with extremely light and variable winds 1 - 3 mph from the east. After an hour of slow racing, winds built to 5 - 10 mph out of the south.

JV completed 6 races. Phoebus High School earned first place, York High School earned second place followed by Tabb High School in third place.

The races were cut short due to thunder and lighting. Varsity completed 3A and 2 B races; however racing was abandoned shortly after noon due to thunder and lightening rendering the varsity regatta a non-event.

Many thanks to David Chase for giving time to serve as PRO on Varsity, and Joe Kilgore who was PRO on JV. Thanks also go out to the rest of the volunteers on start, finish and mark boats as well as on dock rotations and coaches that keep the league running.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
