DC Sail hosted a T1 event with 11 boats on the water. 14 total races were sailed on a full day of racing, on the water at 09:45 and off at 16:05.
Weather was fair, with cloudy skies breaking to sun midway through the day and pleasant temps in the 70s. Wind conditions were shifty, with a Northeasterly 5-12 kt shifting around 14:00 to Northerly 2-10 kts. The breeze was constantly waffling between 45 degree shifts on either side. Sailors fought to sail into the heavier air and find the lifted side throughout the day.
Starts for Races 1A through 3B went without a hitch. After a general on 4B and 5A, both fleets were on I-flag for the remainder of the day. Starts became more challenging from then on, with more erratic timing and wider angles between the shifts impacted by nearby city buildings as the breeze clocked to the North.
Thank you to all sailors, parents, and coaches for driving into the city to see us and for cleaning up after your teams. Thank you to the coaches who helped with protests. And thanks to all DC Sail staff for their hard work!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
