NESSA Great Oaks Qualifier

Summary

Saturday, September 20:

The Great Oaks Qualifier is a one division regatta that was sailed on a sunny crazy wind day on Lake Massapoag. The first race began in a northeast wind a 5-7 mph with the new puffs trending to the north, despite the forecast of wind clocking to the east. The next two races were set up more north and puffs rotated to north north east. After race was abandoned because of because of a solid northeast and a fetch to the windward mark for some, the course was reset and then the wind was back to the north for a course that remained square for the remainder of the morning. As the sailors took a break for lunch the wind died completely. When it tried to come back is was from the South. Another race was attempted and then abandoned as the wind died. Congratulations to Greely, Sharon, and Staples for qualifying for the Great Oaks Regatta in New Orleans. Unfortunately Cape Cod Academy lost out on qualification by losing a tie breaker with Staples.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
