ISSA 2025 Cressy Singlehanded Champs ILCA 7 Open

Summary

Saturday, November 1:

Sailors arrived to Old Dominion University to a shifty 6-9 knot westerly and were able to fire off races right away. Throughout the day the breeze slowly tapered off and shifted to the right, ending up in a Northerly. The ILCA 7's completed 5 races, the ILCA 6 Women completed 4 and had a 5th called off when the wind died. The ILCA 6 Men completed 4 races. Racing was called for the day at 4pm. Forecast for tomorrow looks to be 8-10 from the ENE so we're looking forward to getting as much racing in before 3pm as possible.

Thank you to our PRO Ethan Tutt '23, our Chief Judge Jerry Thompson, our other judge Makalynne Dyer, as well as all the ODU Sailors who helped out with race management.

Sunday, November 2:

Sailors arrived to Old Dominion University to glassy water, the tide completely out and not a cloud in the sky. The wind started to build around 1030 and settled in to the NE around 1100. With the NE wind, RC decided to run 2 race sets, with a W4 to start and a W3 at the end to allow sailors to get to the (not so) floating docks for coaching. Throughout the day, race officials battled 50 degree shifts as the breeze steadily marched to the right. Despite having to moving to constantly move marks to keep up with the shifts, all fleets completed 5 races before the 1500 cut off time.

One protest was heard in ILCA 6 Boys race 9 resulting in a DSQ

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
