Fortunately the forecast's prediction of a complete blow-out was incorrect and sailors enjoyed winds of 8-12 with gusts in the high teens. Direction was initially northerly clocking NE by the end of racing.
The championship format was a complete round robin of all 8 teams with direct swaps where possible. Teams were then locked in rank groups. After a 45 min lunch break two full silver and gold interwoven rounds were then sailed with sailors remaining in their boats for each round, but switching fleets (FJ & 420) between the rounds. Racing began after 9:30 and was concluded by 4:00 PM having completed 52 races on a digital N course.
Christchurch School Team 1 took first place with an impressive 12 wins and 1 loss. Norfolk Academy followed in second with 10 wins and 3 losses and Norfolk Collegiate finished third with 6 wins and 7 losses.
Thanks go to Christchurch School for hosting, and especially to Tyler Moore for filling in as PRO in a pinch, keeping the course true, and running and efficient race schedule.
