WSC hosted the first ever NWISA Oregon State Championships. The top school in the Gold Division was Wilson, the top school in the Silver Fleet was St Mary's.
Congratulations to all the sailors in the Oregon State High School Sailing Championship regatta on May 3 & 4, 2014.
We had a mix of weather and wind all weekend long including clouds, sun, rain, sprinkles, 15+ knot blasts, and near calms. But sailors from Portland, Hood River, and Eugene, split into A and B fleets and kept 10 boats busy with 24 races. After racing on Sat, there was a warm dinner and climbing at the rock gym. At the Sunday awards ceremony, much gear donated by America's Cup Team Oracle and Zim Sailing (Manufacturer of the 420 and other fun boats), was raffled off to several lucky sailors.
Congrats to the Gold Fleet champs - Wilson HS, and to the Silver Fleet Champs - St. Mary's HS!!
But the fun didn't stop on the water, the sailors, coaches, parents and volunteers were kept warm and well fed by a fabulous dock and galley crew. Led by the tireless and creative chef and organizer Mary Krummel, the galley team pulled off great meals and snacks non-stop all weekend. I'm sure to miss folks, but I want to thank Mary and her key volunteers including Heather Jenkins, Shelby Quintos, Paula Mercer, Amber Ackerson, Alison Ped, and Marguerite Rogers. Out on the water I had super help from John Stump, Tom Ripple, Loren Jenkins, Scott Grealish, and Ted Mercer. I hope they are all dried out, and backs are recovering from pulling up marks. Thanks are also due to the coach, Andrew Cannard for putting it all together and keeping everyone moving through the paces. A fun weekend, and great opportunity to share our facilities, boats and river with other Oregon sailors. Thanks to all who helped make this a success for the sailors, and congrats to all the sailors who participated!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
