The day started off with excitement from the sailors, and light and shifty winds for our venue. PRO Ron Spies was challenged by the conditions setting up the course, but once the light breeze filled in at 4-5 knots, the long day began. Sixty six races (a full round robin) was completed. We thank all coaches, umpires, RC, and especially the sailors who were on the water for almost 10 hours! We provided water and food on the water, along with rotations taking place off the pontoon boats with coach support.
Again, we were challenged by light and shifty winds. The Gold Round consisted of Minnetonka, Latin, New Trier, Lake Forest, Loyola and Walter Payton. Racing was competitive. A sail-off was needed to determine first and second place, and third and forth. The top 6 placed in the above positions. Great job sailors!
Minnetonka will advance to the Nationals in Chicago. Latin and New Trier will go to the National Invitational Regatta in NY. Good luck sailors!
