NJISA Icebreaker

Summary

Saturday, March 21:

The NJISA League finally got the season officially underway, even though the remains yesterday's first day of spring snowfall left several inches of snow covering the OCC fleet of 420's, coach boats and docks.

The report time was postponed until 12-noon so the docks and boats could be cleaned of snow and then races began shortly after 1:00 Although the temps remained in the 30's and low 40's, the sun came out and the sailors enjoyed a nice W to SW breeze of 5-10 mph.

Ten schools, with fifteen teams on the water, sailed 5 W4 races each in A Division and B Division, for a total of 10 races for the day.

Congratulations to the CBA Colts who finished 1st, the Southern Rams in 2nd and the North Mariners in 3rd.

Once again, many thanks to Dave Magno for setting and maintaining the race course and Brian Hull for running a set of the races.

A special thanks to James a.k.a. "Scooter" for shoveling the docks this morning!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
