Jordan Lake North Points #5

The Research Triangle Park (RTP) High School Sailing Program hosted the North Points #5 Regatta on Jordan Lake at Crosswinds Boating Center in Apex, NC. Five teams competed, three varsity teams as well as one split team (Cape Fear and Carrboro High) and one composite team (Green Hope High, Wakefield High, Voyager High and Cardinal Gibbons High); the split team and composite teams were scored DNF. The weather was sunny and breezy -- a far cry from the previous Saturday when we had to postpone the regatta because of ice, snow, and extreme cold. Temperatures were 32-53 degrees F, with wind 6-8 kts out of the SW and W. Five races were completed in each division for a total of 10 races. All courses were WD with close and competitive downwind finishes. No protests were filed.
