The NWISA DISTRICT TEAM RACE CHAMPIONSHIP was held on the first May weekend of 2015 under sunny skies, just off the pier at Sail Sand Point. Seven teams vied for the top spot on a weekend tailor made for team racing, with the Northerly filling in each morning at 7-12 knots.
Racing started up at 10:45 in a straight and steady 10-12 knots. After 51 races lasting 9-10 minutes each, racing was stopped at 17:30.
Sunday brought similar conditions, with slightly warmer weather, and a bit of a shifty Northerly at 5-10 knots, which made for some gutsy tactical moves on the start line. After finishing the third round robin, a final four group was set and sailed in the final round which exhibited some of the finest team racing of the weekend. Overall a great weekend was had by all 100+ participants, and it would have been hard to ask for a better two days of conditions.
