A steady breeze from the south pushed the FJs around the course, and required only a few slight course adjustments during the day, but distant thunderstorms and black clouds in the afternoon forced the race committee to stop racing about an hour before racing was scheduled to stop. But the sailors had time to show their skills in the 8 races that were completed; though this is the first regatta of the season (and the first regatta ever for some of the sailors), the FJs were usually all on the starting line on time, and the fleet stayed pretty tight; the boats weren't very spread out even after some 15-to-20-minute races.
