2023 SEISA Fleet Champs

Summary

Saturday, April 1:

The day started with 6 teams ready to sail on a warm sunny day,but with a delay due to lack of wind. Races eventually got under way about 11:15 AM, with light winds (5 knots) and very shifty. There were several abandoned races and postponements for course re-adjustments due to the 40 degree wind shifts in the first hour.

The breeze settled in from the east and racing then progressed quickly through the day. The temperatures got up to around 85 degrees with winds around 7-10 knots. We were able to get 9 A fleet and 8 B fleet races in completed in relatively stable conditions before the wind shifted back towards the north and back to about 5-6 knots & wide shifts back and forth. After some time resetting the course, we were able to complete 10 races in both divisions. Racing was called for the day 2 races short of the full double round.

There was 1 protest filed; after a lengthy hearing this was disallowed. Clear Falls HS of League City, TX won the Fleet Championship with 33 points, followed closely by Lake Travis HS from Austin, TX with 37 points and Clear Lake HS from Houston, TX in 3rd.

Sunday, April 2:

Regatta was completed on Saturday; therefore, no sailing needed on Sunday.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
