A late season and unusually strong cold front passed through the area bringing a north wind at 25-35mph over Lake Pontchartrain. Conditions are not safe the competitors or race committee. All racing for the day has been abandoned.
The strong cold front continued to hold its grip over New Orleans which further postponed the regatta. A couple of teams dropped out due to the continued postponement and the conditions. Racing finally got underway at 1:30, with a north wind at 15-20mph and very steep, heavy chop, and a temperature right at 50 degrees. Reduced area mainsails were used on all boats. Only three races were sailed for the safety and well being of all competitors.
