VISA Maury Team Race Regatta

Nine reams representing seven schools arrived at the Lafayette River to find sporty team race conditions with light rain and northerly winds in the high teams and gusts under 20mph. The rain dissipated shortly after racing commenced, eventually leading to a bit of sunshine through the clouds and air temperature in the 60's. Winds dropped throughout the day with a low of 5mph around 1:30 when it shifted to NE, followed by a build to around 14mph by the conclusion of racing just before 3:00PM.

The initial round robin of 36 races finished with Christchurch Team 1 in first place, followed by Christchurch Team 2 in second, and Norfolk Academy Team 1 in third place. Teams were reseeded into silver rank groups and these rounds were sailed interwoven, completing 52 races for the regatta.

Final results show Christchurch Team 1 in first place with 10 wins and 2 losses. Christchurch School Team 2 (8 wins, 4 losses) won the tiebreaker for second, leaving Norfolk Academy Team 1 in third place with 8 wins and 4 losses.
