Teams from all across the southwest corner of Connecticut gathered around 3:30PM at Sail Black Rock for the inaugural FCSL Girls Fleet Racing Champs. Competitors were greeted by what seemed to be a steady southerly but in reality was a "harbor hurricane" in the cove that did not have much behind it out in Black Rock Harbor where Race Committee had diligently setup a course prior to Z420s launching. After a short period of waiting to see if the southerly out in the Sound would creep closer, RC made the call to reset the course further out and did so quickly. Racing began shortly thereafter and 5 rather efficient races in a particularly shifty southerly were completed before 7PM.
The action on the race course was compelling, with Fairfield Ludlowe HS, Weston HS, and the Greenwich Academy + Fairfield Ludlowe "Greenfield Composite" team all having held at least a share of first place at different points in the regatta and having all won a race going into the final start of the day (shoutout to GCDS for being the only other team with a bullet on the day).
In the end it would be the Fairfield Ludlowe Falcons that would win the last race and thus claim the title of first ever FCSL Girls Fleet Racing Champions - congratulations to them!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
