On a brisk April morning, the NYISA-NW All Girls Qualifier witnessed the fierce competition of eight teams comprising experienced high school female sailors. Over the course of 12 races, in winds ranging from 12 to 20 knots with significant gusts, the challenge was as formidable as the determination of the participants. Amidst these elements, the public high school team representing Amherst Central High School showcased exceptional skill and resilience. Battling both the elements and their competitors, they emerged victorious, securing the coveted qualifying spot for the upcoming MASSA All Girls championship. Their triumph on the Western New York waterfront stands as a testament to their dedication. We look forward to hosting the MASSA All Girls Championship in two weeks!
