2025 Fairfield County Sailing League Girls Champs

Summary

Wednesday, May 7:

The 2nd Annual FCSL Girls Fleet Racing Championship started off with competitors sailing out to a race course that had been set in a moderate southwesterly off of Battery Point. The first race began at 1658 and from there six total races were completed before the cutoff time, with the last one starting at 1902.

The breeze died down significantly after the first two races and then picked back up to create full on hiking conditions for much of the last two races. That variation in velocity combined with some [at times significant] directional shiftiness made for a challenging race course and compelling competition between all girls present.

In the end it would be Wilton that would win half the day's races and come out ahead as the 2025 FCSL Girls Champions. Congratulations to the Warriors on their first regatta win and championship title in program history!

Props to the other teams that put forth great efforts as well. Racing was tight for most of the day, and each team finished within 3 points of at least one other team.

Thank you to the coaches and race committee that kept things moving efficiently.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
