The NESSA O'Day Qualifier at the UConn Avery Point campus in Groton, CT saw a building, gusty wind that lived up to the Small Craft Advisory for the area. All sailors handled the conditions quite well despite a number of capsizes. The northwest winds started at 10-12 mph and built to 20 mph gusting 30 mph. 14 races were completed (7A & 7B), all were W4s. Only one protest was filed, heard, and upheld. A huge thank you to the volunteers who made the event a success: Race Committee (Liz Sistare & Claudia Koerting), Mark/Safety Boat (Frank Murphy & Jamie Rice), and Protest Committee (Bob LaFrance & Bob Bruno). Additionally, I would like to thank The Williams School for additional support both on and off the water, including Mack Rodgers who assisted another school with the righting of their capsized boat before the start of the next race. CONGRATUALTIONS to the schools that advance to the NESSA O'Day Trophy at Connecticut College on May 24th & 25th: The Hotchkiss School (36), The Brunswick School (37), and Greenwich HS (51).

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
