Summary

Saturday, March 15:

We started Saturday with the wind on Puget sound in a steady 20 knot range gusting to 35. The wind in Eagle Harbor was in the high teens gusting in the 20s. It was a strong blustery southerly, making the racing complex due to the frequent large wind shifts oscillating from Southwest to Southeast through 30° to 50°.

Rain was frequent throughout the day with occasional sun breaks and at least one rainbow.

The wind strength lightened slightly later in the day, but remained strong and blustery.

Six races were completed in each fleet. Three protests were filed and two were heard on Saturday evening. The third was delayed until Sunday morning when both teams were available.

Sunday, March 16:

Sunday started as a cloudy day with a blustery light south wind. We ran races in a very shifty 0 to 7 knot southerly breeze that oscillated 90° between the southwest and southeast. Race eight had to be restarted six times due to wind shifts making the conditions unfavorable, including several general recalls.

Race 9A was attempted, but abandoned due to wind shifts making it unfavorable and unfair There was not time to restart 9A and leave enough time for 9B. The regatta was concluded with 8 races in each fleet.
