A warm and pleasant 8 knot NE breeze greeted the 19 teams competing. A division sailed the University of South Florida provided FJs while B division sailed 420s.
As forecast, the winds slowly decreased throughout the day. A division was sent in for a lunch break while B division continued sailing, completing race 8B. Then they reversed and while race 7A was successfully scored, race 8A was delayed for almost an hour waiting for the wind to return, which it finally did about 3:30pm.
All races were W4's except race 8A which was run as a W3. One request for redress was filed due to a scoring error and was granted. One protest was filed but deemed invalid.
Thanks to the University of South Florida sailing team and coaches who provided regatta staffing and boats, and to the St. Petersburg HS team.
