The first NorCal of the season saw the largest fleet on record with 46 boats in gold fleet and 36 boats in silver fleet. Competitors were excited and anxious for the first regatta of the high school season. Racing started with a postponement at 11:30 and the first race finally getting underway at 12:30. Conditions were very light with an odd southerly direction. Wind died again after the first race forcing the race committee to change course location. With a light breeze that filled around 2:30 a second race was started for both fleets in 4-6 knots of wind. Silver was then sent in for the day and gold attempted another race which was abandoned at the reach mark due to no wind.
