After a 1045 competitors' meeting, 16 NW high school teams and 7 NW college teams hit the water for the 2018 Cascadia Cup promotional regatta at SSP. What followed was great racing all day Saturday. The breeze started off east northeast, but once the fog burned off in the early afternoon the breeze settled in from the north and stayed consistent, building to around 10 mph at times. By the end of the day as the sun set over the race area and the breeze lightened, 7 races had been completed in A fleet, 6 in B fleet.
Competitors were greeted by foggy conditions with light and variable wind conditions. At 1100, competitors were on the water to attempt race 7B in a 2-5mph south westerly, but the breeze shut off and shifted south east before dying again. Racing was called off at 1315 for the day due to the lack of race-able breeze in the forecast. Scores from race 7A were dropped.
Thanks to everyone who attended this year's Cascadia Cup, and to the volunteers for running some great racing on Saturday. Congrats to UW and Roosevelt for finishing as the top college and high school teams, respectively.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
