SAISA South Points 1 - 2018 Varsity

Summary

Saturday, September 29:

South Points 1 took place, on Hollywood's North Lake at Holland Park. 24 varsity and 11 JV teams competed in shifty conditions between 8 and 15 knots. The race committee started all teams at once making for challenging starts and first beats. Congratulations to new SAISA team Immaculata La Salle for first place Varsity win, followed by Ransom Everglades (2nd) and H.B. Plant, which won the tie-breaker for 3rd place against St. Thomas Aquinas. JV winners are St. Thomas Aquinas, Shorecrest Prep and H.B. Plant.

THANK YOU to all Volunteers, Lauderdale Yacht Club, Parents and Sailors from St. Thomas Aquinas, and Pine Crest Schools for supporting the South Points 1 Regatta and making the first high school 420 sailing regatta of the year a great success. Thank you to all the race committee led by PRO Tom Lihan and Race Committee Chair Bob Meagher. Special thank you to past regatta chair Steve Buckley and his wife, Cindy Buckley. A special thank you to Past Commodore Clyde Wright and his committee for serving an amazing lunch. Thank you to all who attended and made this a great start to the season.
