Radial Fleet 2018-SEISA Single-Handed Champs

Summary

Saturday, September 29:

Racing for the SEISA Single-handed champs, hosted by Texas Corinthian Yacht Club started with a postponement ashore due to thunderstorm activity. The first race started at 4pm with 6 races completed late in the evening finishing just after 7pm.

In the Radial Fleet, Michael Burns of St Stanislaus is in the lead, followed by Lance Covington of Clear Falls HS in 2nd place. Racing was sailed in winds ranging between 4 - 12 knots.

Sailors will report for a 9AM Competitor's meeting with a 10:00 am scheduled start for racing to continue Sunday morning. There is a high percentage of thunderstorm activity in the area for Sunday.

Sunday, September 30:

Today started with a 9:00 AM Competitor's meeting; with foreboding weather forecast. Shannon Bush, the PRO was able to get 6 races off today in 10 - 15 kts of breeze, with choppy waters around 1:00 PM.

Michael Burns representing St Stanislaus in Mississippi is the winner and has qualified to go to the ISSA Cressy High School Singlehanded National Championship Regatta Hosted by the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club and the Macatawa Bay Junior Association in Holland, MI on October 26-28, 2018.
